Life Is A Choice!

This statement doesn’t always pertain to abortion. Funny thing is that today I am experiencing total bliss and blessings that my Son and his Wife did not opt for that Choice. Why? Because this morning, my granddaughter, Natalie was born and what that brings to our family is far more than just another bundle of joy.

She has a life full of Choices in front of her and some will be seemingly predetermined by her environment, yet the critical decisions will be made from the Choice she makes about herself. We have the Responsibility to our children to guide and nurture their Choice-making abilities and give them the best possibility for success.

Isn’t it also true for all of us that we, not our environment, are Responsible for the Choices we make? Were we not gifted with the innate ability to write and/or rewrite the story for our lives? We’ve seen examples of this over and over again. We also can see the cases, in our own experiences, when we have let people, places and things; circumstances and considerations be the determining factor for us. It simply doesn’t have to be that way.

Remember, that everything we currently have is of our own making and if not, we have the Choice to make something new. Choose wisely!

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.
So What, Now What?

We get so stuck in the Past. It could have been so much better. What was or wasn’t said or done. We wish we could go back and change things. We want our Present to be More, Better, Less or Different in relation to the Past.

The silliest part of it all is that we know that nothing can be changed once it is. So, what if we decided to stop going around Changing things? Change is virtually always in reference to the Past. Knowing that we can do nothing about what is, what would have us giving it so much attention?

The problems we encounter likely reside in us making facts about who we are because of what we did or didn’t do. We end up confirming our identity with the Past. That’s about behavior, not Being. If we want to truly get Present, we must depart all that once was and arrive at whatever we have Now, which is usually just ourselves.

If our Past requires cleaning up, we can do so in the Present and be done with it once and for all, allowing us to proceed. Problems get perpetuated by dwelling on something we have little or no control over. Should we determine that we are good people with good intentions, what we do in the Present, and most importantly, who we areNow, is what makes all the difference.

The path to second chances is of our own making. Creation occurs only in the Present. When used responsibly, the four magic words to get Present and authentically let go of the Past are: So What, Now What?

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.
Tired of Failing?

Failure is not an option! Some of us attempt to live by this credo, yet results show that the most successful of all often also fail in large ways too. Babe Ruth, the Home-Run king struck-out a lot too. Abraham Lincoln, one of our most revered Presidents, lost many political races before finally winning voter approval.

To fail doesn’t necessarily have to happen. If success can be reached without the need for defeat, go for it. Most great accomplishments simply aren’t that easy. Some of us get stuck in a Mindset that actually invites and perpetuates Failure. What we want to get clear on is how powerful our thoughts are and learn to manage and control what we think, thus guiding us to positive results.

Another element to consider is the Willingness to fail. That doesn’t mean we must accept failure carte blanche, it only speaks to how if we allow the possibility, then the possibility of success becomes much, much greater.

In case we weren’t aware, Mindset and aligning that Mindset with thoughts of Abundance and Prosperity actually do make all the difference. Yes, there will be much effort required as well, yet wouldn’t we rather take action with the Spirit of success being inevitable as opposed to operating with a constant fear of failure?

Truly, every endeavor is preceded with such a Choice and the fact of the matter is that those that claim success most often have chosen the Mindset of success prior to action. Being Unstoppable and Persevering through any challenges provides the inertia needed to see things through to completion.

Failure often occurs by just giving up. Tired of Failing? Give up on giving up! What separates the winners from the losers is that winners are willing to fail and are Committed to go forth in the face of adversity. Let’s find ways to maintain our Energy when seeking success; that’s what successful people do when they get tired.

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.

We’ve all had the idea: “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Amazing how we come to later realize that “it,” whatever that might be, was right in front of us all along! Sometimes adjusting our vision and perspective enables us to see more clearly and be in touch with what is and not with what isn’t.

Of greater importance are our Beliefs. What we know gets so hard-wired to the point that we are left with no other options.

A critical life-lesson to consider is to recognize that knowledge, for each of us, lies outside of the sphere of what we currently possess. Plainly put, we limit ourselves by what we now know and can only expand by seeking that which we don’t.

This isn’t an attempt to discount or invalidate useful information. If something works, let it. What is important is to question our Beliefs about ourselves and what we’re capable of. Also, it might be a good idea to question our interpretations versus facts about the people, places and things that surround us.

If everything in life was judged by only our opinion, growth would have little to no chance for success. We might as well return to the Stone Age.

If we don’t Believe in a particular Faith, Philosophy or Attitude, no problem. Yet, if that same Belief or dis-Belief limits another’s opportunity to be fully self-expressed, what gives anyone the right to do so?

How arrogant would that be! Yet, check how we go through our day and let’s admit to ourselves when we’re playing that game and knock it off.

What’s the simple solution?

Acceptance, Tolerance and as much Unconditional Love as we can muster. If other people don’t get it, “it,” again whatever that might be, will come if we Trust ourselves to do the right thing by others. Believe it and you will see it!

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.
I’m Sorry…

This is one of the most over-used phrases in our society. Unfortunately, it often says to the recipient: “You can count on me to do it again.” We go around writing this blank check day after day without taking anyResponsibility for our actions.

We must simply take ownership for what we do and not let ourselves pretend not to know it is wrong. This can be clearly distinguished when defining Guilt and Shame. Being guilty for some action or behavior speaks to the facts. Experiencing shame is about feelings and emotions that cover up the truth.

Most of us go around saying: “I feel bad for…” That’s all about Shame and the reality is that we don’t have feel shame for anything ever again if we don’t want to. The way to this freedom is to be honest, real, contrite and in action about making things right to the satisfaction of the other party. Once this is accomplished, we have made our Amends and there is no need for Shame while the Guilt is now absolved.

If we have been thorough in our attempts to correct past wrongs and the other chooses to still have negative energy about the situation, that’s not about us anymore, it’s about them and their unwillingness to let go. Forgiveness isn’t about letting people get away with their actions it simply means that we release our Resentment.

Let’s listen closely for the “Sorry” and “I feel bad…” talk whether it comes from us or another. We can liberate one another by taking Action and making things new, rather than holding onto the past.

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.
Are You Talking To Me?

These five words can virtually always raise the tension to a new level. The next likely thing to happen will either be intensified confrontation or retreat by one of the parties. So, who has the greater insecurity? Is it the one giving the hard stare or the one reacting to it?

What’s the deal? We act tough as if we can actually control others and show up in a threatening way. What are we really up to? Proving our Courage? Displaying whatever Power we want to impress upon others?

Sometimes, we really need to show them who the real boss is. It’s all just an attempt to exert our Will upon someone else and that never feels good when done to us. Why would we choose to do it to another?

Some of us are skilled in hiding behind titles, rank or seniority. When an individual authentically expresses these characteristics, we automatically have Respect for that person. Funny thing is that they don’t even have to try, it’s simply who they are. Why? Because they aren’t Being that way out of need.

When someone needs to Be in Control or show off their Power, we experience Fear or Intimidation; if not that, we laugh at their lame attempts to Be so.

The real question is: How do we want the world to see us?

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe. We have become excellent finger-pointers and being able to articulately describe the situation may even produce a job in the media or other venues. People have made entire careers simply by crying: “Foul!”

One of the greatest faults we can practice is to pass-the buck, avoiding Responsibility for how it is in our personal or professional lives. Most of us have great ideas about what can or should be changed, yet we consistently stand by idly, doing nothing; only adding our words to the conversation. While words can carry great value, they can also sometimes be entirely meaningless.

Leadership is about Being an Agent for Change and not only the Visionary. What is required is the Commitment to see it through to completion, even if that means to be the last one standing.

Every one of us can assert ourselves into the role of Leader in any facet of our lives and it doesn’t have to equate to great societal or historical differences. The reality is that greatest transformation we can make in the world starts with ourselves and our families. When we are all up to Being our greatest Possibility, our children learn that for themselves and the world transforms accordingly.

Until we are the demand for Accountability and Responsibility in our own experience, there will be little chance of us affecting such in others.

It all starts with our daily Actions and a Commitment to be in Contribution to others authentically; automatically!

The Mystery of Life is that there is no Mystery to it. Plainly, there is simply what is and what isn’t. There is what we know we know and what we know we don’t know. Beyond that, there is a whole lot of what we don’t know that we don’t know; that’s where learning and growth occurs.

We can call the unknown Mysterious, maybe even in some romantic or curious way. Should we choose to remain perplexed by anything, it will still be our simple Choice to remain there. We can also choose to investigate and inquire so as to further our knowledge.

This idea applies greatly to who we are as individuals and/or connected beings to the rest of our world. Until we decide to take a deep look into what is possible for who we can truly Be, we will be left with things just happening to us, thus becoming victimized or accidently part of our own lives.

In taking stock of ourselves in an inquisitive, honest way, we will now have an opportunity to have a life filled with joy, wonder and magnificence for all that is.

The alternative is that people, place and things, conditions and circumstances, have control over our lives and we are left with powerlessness and defeat.

What’s most scary is that whatever outcome we get in our lives, it has been chosen by us and we have no one to blame, but ourselves.

Being responsible for our own results is the quickest way to remove the Mystery.

Feel free to add your comment or subscribe.
